暴雪称，在取消《魔兽世界》原有试玩规定后，最新试玩规定适用于《魔兽世界》入门版(Starter Edition)。今后玩家在1~20级之内，无论该过程需要多长时间，都无需交纳费用。只有级别达到20级之后，才需交纳相应注册费用。
但《魔兽世界》入门版也有诸多限制规定。对于处于1~20级别的玩家，他们最多只能获得10个金币，金币交易额也限定在100个之内，且无法通过拍卖室、收件箱以及玩家对玩家等方式进行交易。此外，该入门版玩家无法进行以下活动：访问公共聊天室、加入行会、邀请其他玩家参与聚会、参与20级以上玩家的聚会、使用语音聊天、改变身份以及使用真实ID等。如果《魔兽世界》访问出现排队情况，则付费用户将享受优先登录待遇。
暴雪还宣布，已将《魔兽世界》最初版本同其第一个游戏资料片《燃烧的远征》(The Burning Crusade)整合到一起，总费用为20美元。此前已购买《魔兽世界》最初版本的用户，将可免费获得《燃烧的远征》。暴雪还表示，已对魔兽世界4.2版《火源的怒焰》(Rage of the Firelands)进行了多项内容升级。
消息不错,不过我已经远离
北京时间6月13日，文化部网站游戏产品审查公示，《魔兽世界》资料片《大地的裂变》通过文化部审批：

不过相信大家都知道，魔兽世界资料片的审批是需要文化部和新闻出版总署共同审批通过才行的，像之前WLK资料片就先是文化部审批通过，但出版总署方面的审批迟迟未过，导致大家等了那么久。而目前出版总署方面并未放出审批通过相关信息，所以大家也别高兴的太早。。。
之前5月9日北京新闻出版局就声明《大地的裂变》审批已上报总署，而现在已经6月13日了，不知道总署方面的审批什么时候会有结果。。。
不过前段时间据有位知情人士爆料说国服《大地的裂变》已经通过有关部门审批，网易内部已经部署月底开始做上线准备工作：
虽然目前依然不知真假，但是就目前的种种迹象看来，国服大灾变也许真的不远了~
